Tailgating Summit

The tailgating summit scheduled for Sunday, August 24 from 4-6pm (dinner provided) in the LSC University Ballroom. Note, this is not the main ballroom, but one of the newly renovated ballroom spaces on the north end of the LSC.

Please ensure those that RSVP are present and know where to be and at what time. If you have not RSVP’d yet, but plan to host any tailgate this fall semester, you are required to attend and should complete this form to RSVP: https://fsl.colostate.edu/tailgating-summit-rsvp-form/ 

We will host our annual Tailgating Summit this fall before the semester begins. The details of the program are provided below, but this ‘save the date’ message should provide additional ample notice that chapters that wish to host tailgate events in the fall season at any time are required to have the relevant officers attend the mandatory Tailgating Summit in order to have events reviewed and confirmed. Relevant officers include the president, risk manager, and the officer that plans tailgate events (typically a social chair or tailgate chair, although for some chapters there is overlap). Again, this event is mandatory for chapters that intend to host tailgate events in fall 2025 and an RSVP form for the event will be sent later in July. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT FALL 2025 TAILGATES

CSU is more invested than ever in creating a great tailgate experience on gamedays on campus. We have heard your feedback, and we are excited to share that the student tailgate lot will be expanded this fall, which will create opportunities to give fraternities and sororities that tailgate more space than in previous years to host their tailgates. University leadership, including the CSU Athletics Director wants ALL fraternities and sororities that tailgate to do so on campus whenever possible. Showcase your letters and your chapter pride in visible ways and celebrate CSU on gamedays! This means that there will be an increased focus on tailgating on campus and, with the exception of specific tailgate sometimes held at chapter facilities (like family weekend), we are communicating a request and expectation that all groups tailgate on campus. We think the enhancements to the student tailgate lot and the continuing interest in ensuring fraternities and sororities have a great, accessible student tailgate location is important to honor and taking part in the gameday experience on campus is a central goal for CSU and an opportunity for our organizations to be visible on campus.

While this information will be shared at the summit  with greater context, we would like to provide some key links as chapters begin considering their tailgating plans. When chapters register tailgates, they will need to do so in two places:

1. All events with alcohol hosted by fraternities and sororities must be registered and confirmed with their governing council. That includes tailgates. 2. Any group intending to host a tailgate on campus must also register for space in the student tailgate lot. That can be done via the student tailgate page here: Student Tailgate – Colorado State University Athletics (csurams.com). Registration for the first home football game is now available and this site has good information about the student tailgate on-campus.
