Opportunities for Involvement – Fall 2019

On behalf of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, we hope you enjoyed your summer! This email allows us to share opportunities for involvement within the fraternity and sorority community. Below you will find information about the fraternity and sorority life class offered this fall, the Fraternity & Sorority Joint Judicial Board, and an IFC executive board opportunity. Read on for more information about how you can engage with the fraternity and sorority community!

FSL Class

A core principle for all fraternities and sororities is scholarship. We promote lifelong learning and critical thinking through the membership experience. To help with this, the OFSL offers classes each semester aimed at educating members and encouraging them on the road to fulfilling their potential as leaders in the fraternity and sorority community and beyond. Check out the class description below!

Inclusive Leadership Techniques for Fraternity and Sorority Members
WS 397
Fall 2019
3 Credits
Tuesday 1-2:50 p.m. & Thursday 1-1:50 p.m.

Inclusive Leadership for Fraternity & Sorority Members is designed to provide students an opportunity to explore and discuss the complexity of human differences in today’s society through readings, discussion and activities, and reflection. This class is also designed as a leadership development course and will help fraternity and sorority members examine leadership in the context of inclusion, diversity, and social justice. Emphasis is placed on understanding one’s personal identity, as well as understanding how to lead with a sense of responsibility toward and with different individuals. Strategies for allyship and interdependently leading within a global community are also examined.

This class is only open to fraternity and sorority members, so students have the opportunity to build relationships with fraternity and sorority members from chapters across campus all while reflecting on what makes the fraternity and sorority experience unique. The course meets on Tuesdays between 1-2:50 p.m. and Thursdays 1-1:50 p.m.

To register for the course, use CRN #71569 or e-mail natalie.padron@colostate.edu or amanda.villa@colostate.edu for more information.
